Canva for School Librarians: Design, Advocate, Inspire

Date: 27/6/2025
Timing : 9 - 12.30 (including a 15 minute break)
Price £55 (includes 2 free books for your library)
Course Description:

In this dynamic three-hour workshop, school librarians will unlock the full potential of Canva—a powerful, free design tool that can revolutionise how you advocate for your library, promote reading, and engage your school community. Whether you're a Canva beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this course will equip you with practical, hands-on techniques to elevate your work and amplify your voice.
Through guided demonstrations and live creation sessions, you’ll learn how to:
  • Design posters that stop students in their tracks
  • Create short videos to promote books, events, and initiatives
  • Build your own interactive quizzes to engage learners
  • Use Canva’s bulk creation tools for certificates etc
  • Craft scroll-stopping social media content
  • Build polished presentations that shine during lessons, assemblies and staff meetings
  • Write professional, visually compelling reports that get read—and remembered
More than just a design platform, Canva becomes your advocacy partner—a tool to showcase the impact of your library, tell compelling stories with data, and champion reading and literacy in your school.
By the end of this course, you’ll walk away with a suite of ready-to-use materials, practical skills, and a fresh perspective on how design can help you advocate, communicate, and lead as a modern school librarian.
No design experience needed—just bring your ideas and get ready to create!

Want to do the course but can't make that date/time? No problem! The session will be recorded and delegates will have access to it until the 5th September
(Minimum delegates for the course to run - 5)
