IFLA WORLD THROUGH PICTURE BOOKS PROGRAMME
UK SELECTION FOR 3rd EDITION

In 2004 The Children’s and Young Adult Section of IFLA (International Federation of Library and Information Associations) developed the World Through Picture Books programme. The aim was to create a list of some of the best picture books from around the world as recommended by librarians. A second expanded edition which featured additional countries was published in 2015 – you can read this  here
We are currently working on a third edition which will be launched in May. It is now some time since the 2nd edition was published and many more outstanding and diverse picture books have become firm favourites since then so we thought that for the third edition, countries may wish to revise their original lists.
In 2022 members of ASCEL, SLG, SLA, FCBG as well as individual librarians were asked to nominate two favourite titles. These have been added to the original 10 titles that the UK selected for the previous editions. Now librarians across the UK have the chance to vote to select which of the 45 possible nominated titles will be chosen as the UK top 10 list of librarian’s favourite picture books for the World Through Picture Books 3rd edition.
You can vote for 10 of the 45 books. Please choose ten books from those listed below , giving 5 points to your number one choice, 3 points to your number two choice and 1 point each to your  remaining 8 selections.
The closing date for voting is Monday 30th JANUARY 2023
Enjoy voting and I look forward to seeing the results of the UK children’s and school’s librarians’ jury 😊
    Thanks
